Shopping Hour: Priority access to tills upon display of ID card for NHS staff and all groups entitled to a Blue Light card, such as social care workers, first responders and St John’s Ambulance staff. They will also have exclusive access for 30 minutes before opening on Sundays. Monday-Saturday elderly and vulnerable customers will have exclusive access 30 minutes before opening, browsing time only. General opening time extended to 10pm, Mon-Sat.

If you’re unable to get a Morrisons delivery slot through the website, check Deliveroo to see whether your area is covered for an essentials delivery – which could bring a limited selection of Morrisons groceries to your door within as little as half an hour of you placing the order. Or, if you’re an Amazon Prime customer, you might be able to benefit from a same-day Morrisons delivery. The Wimbledon Guild is providing grants in the form of supermarket vouchers to people in Merton who have been impacted by the Coronavirus. In order to be eligible, you will need to be:

Healthy Start Scheme
Families who qualify for Healthy Start get vouchers to spend on milk, plain fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables and infant formula milk. You will qualify if you are at least 10 weeks pregnant, or you have a child under four years old, and you and your family receive any of the following:
Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Child Tax Credit with a family income of £16,190 or less per year
Pension Credit; or
Universal Credit (but only if your family earns £408 or less per month from employment)
If you are under 18 and pregnant, you will qualify even if you do not receive any benefits. Pregnant women, women with a child under 12 months and children aged from six months to four years who are receiving Healthy Start vouchers are also entitled to free Healthy Start vitamins.

Friends in St Helier

Friends in St Helier are delivering hot meals to those in need in the SM4 area, using the kitchen at Eastways Day Centre to prepare the food. The majority of customers are members of their 50 + clubs, but they are open to referrals. Week beginning 18th May they expect to provide meals on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. To make distribution easier they are not collecting money but expect their members to donate £4 per meal. As referrals are for the vulnerable in the SM4 area there will only be a voluntary donation at the end of the project.

The Association of Polish Family
The Association for Polish Family is running a food distribution center, working with the Merton Community Fridge and Dons Local Action Group. They offer fresh food boxes (30/40% long life products) for collection on Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 1pm at Colliers Wood Community Centre (66-72 High Street Colliers Wood, Colliers Wood, London SW19 2BY)
They can deliver emergency food boxes across the borough, throughout the week (after 2pm). They distribute fresh food boxes, with about 30/40% of the box made up of long life products.

COVID-19 Community Response Hub / Merton Community Fridge
Details of offer: For those in need of support, the Community Response Hub is a triaging service for both self and third party referrals. If you are in need of an emergency food package, due to financial hardship, the hub will refer you on to a local organisation that will provide one.
The local organisations that the Community Response Hub refer on to are Age UK Merton, Friends of St Helier (FISH), The Wimbledon Guild, Merton and Morden Guild, and Commonside Trust.
The Hub also refers to partners receiving food from Merton’s Community Fridge. Led by Merton Council, Merton’s Community Fridge Network sees food provided through UK charity FareShare’s food redistribution network delivered to local food distribution hubs in the borough.
